A word so big, yet hard to define.
Hope,
A thing we cling to,
It’s what guides us when we choose.
A wish for loved ones,
A spark of life,
The push that gets us through the strife.
Hope,
For a united States, a brighter day,
For those who’ve left homes away.
Who’ve crossed oceans, left all behind,
Chasing dreams, for freedom to find.
And for the oppressed, standing tall,
May hope be our light when darkness falls.
Hope,
For war to end, for humans to friend,
For clean air, fresh water, the planet to defend.
For those without homes, food, or love,
For kindness to rain from above.
And,… for robots to not take over?
Hope,
God grants you grace.
Inshallah, Allah will bless your space.
Mashallah, for all that’s already great.
Hope Buddha brings you peace and care,
That your soul finds rest, your heart repair.
If you believe in the divine by other name or face,
May your faith bring comfort, may your prayers be felt.
Whether it’s the Lord, or the One up high,
Your ancestors, and loved ones, passed on but nearby.
Maybe it’s the stars, the moon, or the sun,
And maybe your Patronus if you’re a Harry Potter fan!
Your imaginary friend, angel numbers, teddy bears, Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, heroes,…
And if none of the above,
Maybe the stock market’s your last option!!
But the point is,
The list is endless.
For hope is endless.
